Surgical management of recurrent rectal prolapse in a pup by colopexy

A 48 days old female Rajapalayam puppy was presented to the Small Animal Unit of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology Department, VCC, RIVER, Puducherry with a history straining while voiding. Physical examination revealed protrusion anorectal mucosa degree prolapse around 5 cm in diameter. By ultrasonography, rectal differentiated from ileocolic intussusception. After manual reduction prolapse, purse string suture applied anus additional epidural anaesthesia achieved prevent re-prolapse. Colopexy performed after repeated spite reduction. Rectal not noticed; hence non incisional technique effective preventing recurrent prolapse.
